Cello note layout and range
The cello pans are mid range pans consisting of three drums. There is also a four pan variation of the traditional cello.
There are 8 notes on each drum and each drum is typically made up using a diminished chord pattern.
The cello pan is a versatile instrument which is used to:
- strum chords.
- play bass solos in their own higher register.
- play harmony.
- follow the frontline pans an octave below .
- provide counter melodies.
