Quadrophonic                                                                                      note layout

The quadrophonic is an extension of the second tenor pan.

It has the largest range of all the individual steelpans, having 36 notes. Each drum is made up of a major third and the drums are arranged in a chromatic order from left to right.

Two of the drums are set as second tenors and the other two tilted vertically in front of the player on specially made stands.

The quadrophonic supports the frontline pans and is sometimes referred to as the sister pan to the cello as it often mirrors their functions.
