Guitar note layout and range
The guitar pans are the mid range pans in the steelpan family.
The two drums have approximately 8-10 notes on each drum, depending on the design.
The skirt is just over one third of the full drum.

There are single guitar pans, which are soley for playing rhythmic strumming patterns throughout a musical arrangment.
There are also double guitar pans:
Their function is also to play rhythmic strumming patterns. However, it is not unheard of for a solo to be played on them or to support the cellos.
